Playa de las Americas is one of the most popular resorts in the whole of South Tenerife, due to it’s prime sea front location and fabulous local amenities. Las Americas enjoys some of the best weather in Tenerife being at the south of the Island hence

Golfers will be happy with 2 golf courses nearby, or chose from a lot of others scattered around Tenerife island. There are two, international standard golf courses six miles away in Adeje, and now the recently finished Golf Las Americas between Los Cristianos and Playa de Las Americas. Excellent tennis club is situated on the resort itself. The nightlife is the liveliest on
the island, with a casino and most clubs staying open until the small hours. One of the most popular night club destinations is Veronicas. AStrip is full of bars, night clubs and pubs, making the perfect night out for young groups. There are top British DJ's, live music and a wide mixture of dance clubs that enable people to stay up until dawn.

There are three dark sandy beaches, Playa del Bobo and the two Playas de Troya. Very popular in high season, they offer a wide range of watersports. There are also three fabulous man-made beaches situated in the Fanabe area of Playa de las Americas and out towards Playa del Duque. Shopping in the area is plentiful, boasting several fashion shops, boutiques and many duty-free shops, as well as offering the usual selection of tourist fare. For the more domestic shopping requirements, a wealth of supermarkets are located near to the apartments. Playa de las Americas is 30km south of Los Gigantes.

The side of Playa de las Americas that is located closely to Los Cristianos is a lot quieter than many people will think, with a shopping centre and a few quiet bars near the beach. Playa de las Americas has a total of 8 beaches, some with golden sand, some with black sand. Sun beds and umbrellas are available for hire as well as a variety of water sports including banana boats, catamaran sailing trips, paragliding, pedalos and jet skiing. Las Americas town has three decent shopping centres too, selling all the usual tourist gifts and souvenirs, but also clothes you’d find in the UK at discounted prices. They are: CC Oasis, CC Safari (which are both near the Mediterranean Palace Hotel) and further down town is Parque Santiago Shopping centre.

There are also exclusive new shopping centres, as in the San Eugenio District and around Puerto Colon.Watersports and beach club entertainment for children and adults are on offer at the sea. Major theme parks include the Sky Park and the large and impressive Siam Park. Families can choose whether to go on an organised boat trip to see the dolphins or charter their own vessel and cruise the seas alone. The dormant volcano, Mount Teide, is a huge local attraction and guests can undertake a guided tour. Views from the summit are spectacular.
